CONTE HAS LUCK

The Juventus manager Antonio Conte has managed to remarkably overturn the fortunes of the Italian giants, who looked like being available to recover from the match fixing scandal of 2006. They managed to win the title after staying undefeated throughout the whole of last season.

Even though they are currently leading the table by a massive 10 points over the second placed Lazio, Conte has admitted that Juventus could do a lot better. He has urged his team to perform well and break the records of last season as well. Even though the club will not be able to achieve an undefeated league season this time around, they can certainly do well in the European competitions.

Juventus were eliminated from the Champions League in the early knockout stages itself. Even though they are rank outsiders to win the competitions this time around, Antonio Conte believes that he has a strong squad to compete for the ultimate prize in European football. It has been many years since Juventus last tasted success in this competition. They came extremely close in 2003 only to be beaten by archrivals AC Milan. They have currently qualified for the last 16 stage of the Champions League this season as the group winners and will be playing against Scottish club Celtic.

"We've got six points more than we did at this stage last year, but Inter and Napoli are also faring better than last time out. It won't be easy to follow up our achievements, but this record has been established to be beaten. I'd like it to be done by us, if not I would be the first to compliment whoever does so in the future. The Champions League remains a great dream," said Conte. Juventus have already suffered two defeats in the league this season.
