GAME MATTERS

The manager of Juventus, Antonio Conte, has said that his team is not concentrating on records at the moment.

When Juventus takes on Cagliari this weekend, they will have the chance to create new record of winning the most number of matches in a row in the Italian top flight.

According to Conte, his players have their focus on becoming the league champion and not on setting records.
Juventus is looking good to lift the Serie A trophy for the third consecutive time. They are way ahead of the other teams in the table and they will have to play very badly to lose their top position from here on.

Juventus will be going into the match against Cagliari with a slightly weaker defence because the Italian player Andrea Barzagli who is the backbone of their defence is not available for selection because of suspension.

The White-Blacks have got other talented defenders as well, but, to fill in the void created by somebody like Barzagli, it’s not easy.

Speaking in the press conference ahead of the match against Cagliari, Conte said, “We are not thinking about records at all. Our main target is to win the title and we are concentrating on that only.”

“We can’t take Cagliari lightly. They are a quality unit. They are very capable both up front and back and they have got a fantastic manager as well in the form of Diego Lopez.”
When asked about Barzagli, the Juventus boss said, “He will not be there tomorrow. So, we will have to try somebody else. We are not lacking options. There are some really good defenders waiting in the wings. Hopefully, whoever gets the chance does well.”

Juventus has lost just one match in the Serie A this season.
