Juventus have had a season to forget till date after their struggling start continued during their Italian Serie A meeting at Napoli on Saturday evening. The Old Lady were on the end of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Napoli thus making it two successive league defeats for the immediate past Serie A champions.

Napoli were able to claim a comeback win over Juventus thanks to the late goal from Senegalese international Kalidou Koulibaly. The centre back returned to Italy after the recent Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying win over Togo and Congo for his African country to score the winning goal over Juventus.

A depleted Juventus side took the lead inside ten minutes through Spanish international Alvaro Morata after he robbed Kostas Manolas in the Napoli defence. The goal from Morata gave the Old Lady a first half lead only for it to evaporate in the second half thanks to the goals from Marco Politano and the abovementioned Koulibaly.
Politano capitalised on the error from Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to level proceedings for his team. He scored from a tight angle after Szczesny parried the weak shot from Lorenzo Insigne into his path. The equaliser from Politano paved the way for Koulibaly to score the winning goal in the final five minutes.
Juventus started the season with a disappointing 2-2 draw at the home of Udinese on the opening weekend as far as the latest Italian Serie A campaign is concerned. They settled for just a point in Udine despite establishing a two-goal lead. The Old Lady then suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat at home to newly promoted team Empoli. The defeat to Empoli preceded the latest defeat at Napoli.
With the loss to Napoli, Juventus are in 16th on the league table and they trail their latest opponents by eight points after just three games. Napoli have a perfect record of nine points from three games to open a three-point lead at the summit.
